Welcome to National Institute of Technology Malang 

As a higher education institution that organizes an engineering-based academic and vocational education system, the National Institute of Technology (ITN) Malang prioritizes link and match between academic, vocational and industrial education that will provide competence or expertise based on the knowledge possessed, so that graduates can compete internationally, nationally and globally. Learning methods and content are always updated in accordance with technological developments by utilizing the internet of things (IoT) and being able to compete in the 4.0 industrial revolution. Every lecturer is required to improve their ability in implementing the tri dharma of higher education which includes teaching, research and community service. The orientation of scientific activities focuses on Green and Sustainable Technology which consists of the following fields: (1) New and Renewable Energy; (2) Energy Efficiency, and (3) Carbon Footprint. In order to realize the strategic research plan, 5 (five) study centers were formed which include: (1) New and Renewable Energy study centers; (2) Center for Environmentally Friendly Settlement Studies; (3) Center for the Study of Green-Based and Sustainable Industry; (4) Information and Communication Technology Study Center; (5) Green Industrial System Study Center.

As a center for technology development, ITN Malang organizes scientific activities that involve the entire academic community with the support of facilities and funding from the central government, local governments, private sector, and alumni in the form of competitive grants. All scientific activities are strived to produce technology that has a high technology readiness level. To support this downstreaming, all outputs are sought to get legal protection so that they become part of high-value assets. One manifestation of the development of new renewable energy sources, ITN Malang in collaboration with PT. Wijaya Karya (Persero) and PT. Surya Utama Nuansa (SUN Energy) built a 0.5 MWp solar power plant (PLTS) located n ITN Malang Campus 2 which is the largest and the only solar power plant for universities on Java Island.

Increasing the competence of graduates, in order to be able to exist in competition in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, is carried out by developing hard and soft competencies. Hard competence is developed with the habit of building concepts and improving skills in accessing and analyzing integrative data. While soft competence is built with habituation in various activities to build character: discipline, honest, innovative, and confident.

The existence of ITN Malang up to now cannot be doubted because it has been shown with a series of achievements in various fields, both national and international levels. In the field of Student Affairs, ITN Malang has repeatedly won the Indonesian Robot Contest, the Indonesian Intelligent Robot Contest, the Indonesian Art Robot Contest, the Indonesian Water Rocket Contest, the Indonesian Rocket Charge Contest, the Student Innovation Work Contest, the Student Scientific Work Contest, the Concrete Compression Strength Competition, the Competition Energy Saving Cars, Unmanned Fast Boat Competition and Student Creativity Program. Achievements in the fields of sports and arts have also been achieved by ITN Malang in Taek Wondo, Karate, Ju Jitsu, Badminton championships. In the field of art, ITN Malang choir team managed to excel in various prestigious competitions.

Governance development is carried out by strengthening quality assurance and information technology systems. The performance of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) and the Intellectual Property Center (Sentra KI) is increasing so that they exist at the national level. In the management of LPPM and Sentra KI, collaboration is established between senior and junior lecturers, as well as students and alumni who are organized into groups of reliable researchers.

The academic atmosphere is built by creating conditions that encourage the formation of collective intelligence, between students, and between students and lecturers. Libraries, reading rooms, facilities to support the learning process inside and outside the classroom have been built, various books from the results of lecturers’ scientific activities have been published. Studios, laboratories, workshops appear as service providers that can be utilized by students and also partners.

The whole series of achievements led ITN Malang to gain the public’s trust so that it was never absent from receiving an award as the best private university in the category of the best institute in East Java in the form of ANUGERAH KAMPUS UNGGUL (AKU) successively since 2008, as well as receiving ANUGERAH KAMPUS UNGGUL Kartika (AKU) from the government through the DIKTI Service Institute (LLDIKTI) Region VII. In 2019, ITN Malang was ranked No. 1 National in the Indonesian Private Institute category and 4 National in the Indonesian Institute category, while in 2020 the Malang National Institute of Technology will be included in the top 100 Universities in Indonesia based on the ranking carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

ITN Malang has a Bachelor’s Degree Program (S-1) with Study Programs: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Informatics, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning (Planology), Geodetics (GeoInformatics), and Environmental Engineering. Master Program (S-2) with Study Programs: Civil Engineering-Construction Management, and Industrial Engineering-Industrial Management. Diploma III Program with study programs: Industrial Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Electrical Engineering, and Manufacturing Industrial Engineering.

In the 2021/2022 Academic year, the National Institute of Technology Malang started to provide a Digital Business study program based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture Number 65/E/KPT/2020 with an Good accreditation rating. This digital business study program will produce competent alumni in the fields of entrepreneurship, e-commerce, e-content, e-business, start-up business.

The curriculum is prepared based on the standards of the Indonesian National Competency Framework (KKNI) and the National Higher Education Standards (SNPT) No. 44 of 2015 and Permendikbud No. 3 of 2020. With a structured learning evaluation system based on a learning model that prioritizes process, students are educated to be disciplined and accustomed to facing field problems. With competent learning resources and very strong practical experience, students can graduate on time and find jobs easily. The Independent Learning Campus Program (MBKM) is a program where students are allowed to take courses with a certain number of credits from other study programs outside their study programs within the same Faculty or in different Faculties, as well as an industrial internship program for one semester which is equivalent to 20 credits. Students can also take courses with a certain number of credits at universities outside Java and abroad (overseas) with the equivalent of credits according to the provisions imposed by each study program.

There are various scholarships with schemes and funding sources available at ITN Malang , from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (including: Bidik Misi and BBP-PPA, KIP), ITN Malang Partners (including: Bidik Misi, BRI, BNI46, and CIMB Niaga), as well as from the ITN Malang campus itself. Thus, ITN Malang is very suitable to get higher education for the next generation. With high enthusiasm and a conducive academic atmosphere, as well as systems and learning resources that have high competence, then with the motto: “I came, I studied, I succeeded”, students can graduate on time with superior quality graduates.aku datang, aku belajar, aku berhasil”, mahasiswa dapat lulus tepat waktu dengan kualitas lulusan yang unggul.
